If you’ve been reading the newspapers lately or listening to the news you know many people across the country are looking at how

often people with different ethnic backgrounds have been marginalized by the white majority. Many claim that because of this America is tainted with racial injustice, and the whole idea that our country is in any way special should be discarded—even to the point of getting rid of the Constitution. What would you say to this view? Is America special in some way, or are we Americans simply because of living in a certain geographical area?

Answer:

Explanation:

To be or to become an American, a person did not have to be any particular national, linguistic, religious, or ethnic background. All he had to do was to commit himself to the political ideology centered on the abstract ideals of liberty, equality, and republicanism. Thus the universalist ideological character of American nationality meant that it was open to anyone who willed to become an American.

andreev551 [17]

Answer:

This topic is a bad idea because it will give the impression that she evaluated the film based on personal concepts.

Explanation:

The way your friend refers to the film reflects her disgust with science fiction films, or with this specific film. This concept should not be presented in a class assignment, because it would discredit your friend's work, showing that she doesn't know how to evaluate a film in a technical and impartial way, without taking into account her personal feelings and concepts regarding the story.
