Answer:

1. American writer, Tales of a Fourth-Grade Nothing, 30 novels

2. "Blume's Many Awards"

3. It is explicit because it is directly stated in the paragraph

4. Blume is a gifted writer who can write for children as well as adults.

5. All it requires is a good pair of sneakers—no cables, stylish outfits, or weights required.

Explanation:

Question number, the last option is the correct one - American writer, Tales of a Fourth-Grade Nothing, 30 novels- because it answers the following questions: Who is she? What famous book? How many books? The other options only repeat information which can be reduced into one idea.

The main idea is about Blumes’ many awards. No about her future, as It only states the present and past, no about how brilliant she is and no about all the books she has written during her 40 years of career as it only mentions how many books but no explicitly talks about each of these books.

The idea as mentioned Is to talk a little about her work, so it is explicit as it is directly stated in the paragraph what wants to be communicated.

No everyone is able to write for different answers, and in the paragraph it is mentioned that Blume is able to write for both audiences, although she is more famous among pre-teens (children under 13). It doesn’t mention anything about her preferences, an unusual career, or the fact that all of her 30 books have won an award for it to be the reason that she only publishes books that she expects will win an award.

Finally, the last question talks about walking and its benefits for people starting to exercise, the line which has a dash, is unnecessary and distracts the reader of the main idea as, it gives you “extra information” (that’s why the use of dashes to break meaning or pause).

Answer:

Feldman reaches the conclusion that most people are honest without receiving an incentive by

studying a counterclaim about morality and arriving at a broad generalization.

Explanation:

A researcher can reach a conclusion that most people are honest after studying a counterclaim about morality.  He can then arrive at a broad generalization.

A counterclaim is the opposite of an argument, or simply, the opposing argument.  A counterclaim research is one undertaken to establish that the opposite of a research situation prevails.  It is a claim made against a situation or an established position in order to rebut the claimed position.

In this instance, Glaucon had taken a position that no man could resist the temptation of evil if he knew his acts could not be witnessed or dictated.  For Feldman to contradict this claim, with a conclusion that 87% of the time, a man could resist the temptation of evil even if he knew his acts could not be witnessed or dictated because he had become invisible, it means that he had researched the counterclaim.

New Jersey.

September 10, 2020.

Hey man, how are you doing?

Hope you've finally learned how to play that new video game I sent for you.

Well, remember I told you about a prize giving ceremony I was going to attend in my school? Yes, that one. I was surprised when I won two prizes. One for being well behaved and the other for being the neatest, I wasn't expecting either because I don't think I'm the neatest or best behaved, I just try to avoid trouble and look decent.

You can imagine my shock when I heard my name where I was sitting and all eyes were on me. I walked unsteadily to collect the prize and it was the longest twenty seconds of my life. I was proud of the awards though.

When I get back to town, I'll give you more details. Goodbye, for now.

Your friend,

Michael
