What do we mean by civilization? What would you look for in a society to figure out if it was a civilization or not?

Look for signs of life such as, did they have and water reservoirs and planting facilities and for architecture like structures.

The term civilization refers to complex societies, but the specific definition is contested. .... If you look closely, you can make out the cuneiform writing in the center.

For starters, a historian might not know exactly how it happened or simply as it happened, therefore who cannot require them to. If we did we would get inaccurate accounts that wouldn't be beneficial.
