Answer:

In triangles

In the case of a triangle, a common way to calculate its area is 'half of base times height' where the 'height' is the altitude, or the perpendicular distance from the base to the opposite vertex. The base can be any side, not just the one drawn at the bottom.

Step-by-step explanation:

Pleas explain how you get 4 5/24 from 6 1/8-1 11/12? I got 4 2/24 but after using my calculator, I got 5/24.
Savatey [412]
6 \frac{1}{8}-1 \frac{11}{12}=    \frac{49}{8}- \frac{23}{12}=  \frac{49*3-23*2}{24} =  \frac{147-46}{24}=  \frac{101}{24}=4 \frac{5}{24}

Seema is travelling to Australia. She travels a distance of 4,500 km by plane to Dubai and then another 11,700 km to Melbourne.
steposvetlana [31]

Add the two trips together for total Km’s:

4500 + 11700 = 16,200 km.

divide total km by speed:

16,200 / 1,100 = 14.727272 hours

0.727272 x 60 minutes per hour = 43.636363 minutes, round up to 44 minutes

total time: 14 hours and 44 minutes

Side of each square = 3.464 inches
Step-by-step explanation:
Given that Veronica wants to cut a sheet of paper into squares with an area of 12 square inches.
Since for a square all sides would be equal and area
=square of side
we get A=12
Hence side = \sqrt{12} \\
=3.464
Hence answer is 3.464 inches

If someone could help with this one 2 it would be greatly appreciated
LUCKY_DIMON [66]

Given recursive formula is

f(n) = 22 * f(n - 1)

Where first term : f(1) = 10

And we need to find the first five terms of this sequence. So , let's find the second term by plug in n = 2 in the above formula. Therefore,

f (2) = 2.2 * f ( 2 -1)

= 2.2 * f(1)

= 2.2 * 10

= 22

So second term is 22.

Similarly plug in 3 for n to get the third term. Hence,

f(3) = 2.2 * f(3 -1) = 2.2 * f(2) = 2.2 * 22= 48.4

f(4) = 2.2 *f( 4 -1) = 2.2 * f(3) = 2.2* 48.4 = 106.48

f(5) = 2.2* f(5-1)= 2.2 * f(4) = 2.2 * 106.48 = 234.256

So, the first five terms are 10, 22, 48.4, 106.48 and 234.256.

Hope this helps you!
