The correct answer is D. Magna Carta

Explanation:

The Magna Carta was a document first created in 1215 in England that established certain rights for people, especially the Barons the monarchs were not able to violate, which limited the actions fo kings an queens. This document was first agreed by King John of England when it was created and in subsequent years there were multiple discussions about it as some of the monarch and other powerful people support the document or on the opposite tried to eliminate it to restore the power of the monarch.

However, when William III and his wife Mary ascended to the throne in 1689  and became the king and queen of England, Scotland and Ireland there was an emphasis for them to follow the Magna Carta especially as during the same time the first Bill of Rights was created based on it which limited, even more, their power and give more rights to al citizens. Therefore, the document the Parliament insisted William and Mary followed was the Magna Carta and after the Bill of Rights.

Progressivism was a "response to the problems created by unregulated industrialization, unplanned urbanization, and unrelenting
Mademuasel [1]

There are basically two basic premises for defining progressive intellectuals: first, the modern government must be guided by" science "and not by politics itself; and, second, an industrialized economy must have close supervision and regulation. of the visible hand of the modern administrative state. Power must be concentrated in a bureaucracy of “anointed ones”, capable of leading the nation towards progress, based on science.

The legacy of" progressivism ", therefore, is that of a more and more leaderist, interventionist and bloated state, dominated by the" tyranny of specialists ", who have completely lost touch with the reality of the population.
