Though art is not a black and white concept, most of the artist when expressing themselves, have initially an Intention and some preconceptions in order to first create, either by drawing, or sketching their ideas. These preconceptions come from culture, memory and information from the environment. Using these, the meaning starts appearing, because, sometimes this is not done intentionally, it is all according to the skill and the medium used to declare the idea.

Most important is the aesthetics, before known as beauty, since this is how the art product impacts the viewer, or the person who is living up the art. Whatever is the movement that this image/sculpture/melody provokes to the subject is actually the most important criteria, since it is here where all the other fours criteria meet.
