3+4=7
28 divided by 7 equals 4.
3*4=12
4*4=16
12 marbles are red.
16 marbles are blue.
Check: 12+16=28

It is saying that if Mr Newberry had 7 marbles, 3 would be red and 4 would be blue. Basically, the question is asking you to do this:

Red: 28/3 =

Blue: 28/4 =

Use the trend line for data in the scatter plot to make a prediction. about how many pounds were lost per month with 4 hours of
konstantin123 [22]

Given:

Scatter plot of weight loss plan.

To find:

how many pounds were lost per month with 4 hours of weekly.

Solution:

Take any two points on the trend line.

Let the points are (3, 4) and (5, 7).

Slope of the line:

$m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

$m=\frac{7-4}{5-3}

$m=\frac{3}{2}

m = 1.5

Using point-slope formula:

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

y-4=1.5(x-3)

y-4=1.5x-4.5

Add 4 on both sides.

y=1.5x-0.5

Approximate equation of a line is y = 1.5x - 0.5

Substitute x = 4.

y = 1.5(4) - 0.5

y = 6 - 0.5

y = 5.5

Which is nearly equal to 6.

Also see in the scatter plot, y-value for the corresponding value of 4 in x-axis is 6.

Hence 6 pounds lost per month with 4 hours of weekly aerobic activity.

AURORKA [14]
It will hit the ground when h(t)=0.  Since the hammer is simply dropped its initial velocity, v0, is equal to zero and we are told that the initial height, h0, is 25m so our equation is:

h(t)=-4.9t^2+25, we want h(t)=0 so:

4.9t^2-25=0 add 25 to both sides

4.9t^2=25  divide both sides by 4.9

t^2=250/49, since t>0

t=+√(250/49) seconds

t≈2.3 seconds (to the nearest tenth of a second)

let a function F:A➡️B be defined by f(x)=x+1÷2x-1 with A={-1,0,1,2,3,4} and B= {-1,0,4/5,5/7,1,2,3,}.Find the range of f. plzzzz
lidiya [134]

Answer:

Range: {-1, 0, 5/7, 4/5, 1, 2}

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that:

f(x) = (x + 1)/(2x - 1)

And:

f: A ⇒ B

where:

A={-1,0,1,2,3,4}

B= {-1,0,4/5,5/7,1,2,3,}

We want to find the range of f(x).

The range of f(x) will be the set of the outputs of f(x) (and because f goes from A to B, we will only take the outputs that belong to B).

Then we only need to evaluate all the values of A in f(x), and see if the output belongs to B.

we have:

f(x) = (x + 1)/(2x - 1)

f(-1) = (-1 + 1)/(2*-1 - 1) = 0   (this does belong to B)

f(0) = (0 + 1)/(2*0 - 1) = -1  (this does belong to B)

f(1) = (1 + 1)/(2*1 - 1) = 2  (this does belong to B)

f(2) = (2 + 1)/(2*2 - 1) = 1 (this does belong to B)

f(3) = (3 + 1)/(2*3 - 1) = 4/5  (this does belong to B)

f(4) = (4 + 1)/(2*4 - 1) = 5/7  (this does belong to B)

So the range of f(x) is the set with all these outputs, which is:

Range: {-1, 0, 5/7, 4/5, 1, 2}

What is the purpose of "completing the square"?
zysi [14]

Step-by-step explanation:

When you complete the square, you change the equation so that the left side of the equation is a perfect square trinomial. But mainly completing the square is a technique that transforms your quadratic equation from an equation that can't be factored into one that can.
