Answer:Nitrogen in its gaseous form (N2) can’t be used by most living things. It has to be converted or ‘fixed’ to a more usable form through a process called fixation. There are three ways nitrogen can be fixed to be useful for living things:

Biologically: Nitrogen gas (N2) diffuses into the soil from the atmosphere, and species of bacteria convert this nitrogen to ammonium ions (NH4+), which can be used by plants. Legumes (such as clover and lupins) are often grown by farmers because they have nodules on their roots that contain nitrogen-fixing bacteria. (Learn more about this process in the article The role of clover.)

Through lightning: Lightning converts atmospheric nitrogen into ammonia and nitrate (NO3) that enter soil with rainfall.

Industrially: People have learned how to convert nitrogen gas to ammonia (NH3-) and nitrogen-rich fertilisers to supplement the amount of nitrogen fixed naturally

What is the function of the apical complex in an apicomplexan?
neonofarm [45]

Answer:

Apicomplexan is a separate phylum that mainly consists of parasitic alveolates. They have a apicoplast that originated due to the secondary symbiosis.

The apical complex is the special organelle present in this phylum. The apical complex helps in the penetration at the host surface and its attachment on the particular part of the body.  The apical complex helps in the further modification of body that helps the organisms to adapt according to the hosts.

If a supply-demand curve were applied to basic resources, _____.
maksim [4K]
The correct option is A.
Basic resources are those resources that are very important to a business or an individual, one just have to buy the resources whether they are cheap or expensive. The application of supply demand curve to a basic resource will result in the increase of the price of that resource, because supplier will always be willing to supply more at higher prices.<span />
