A heliocentric model of the solar system is the model in which the Sun is at the center of the solar system, and the Earth and planets all revolve around it.

Explanation:

The Heliocentric model was developed by the German astronomer, Nicolaus Copernicus in 2nd Century AD. This model was in opposition to the geocentric model, which stated that the Earth, and not the Sun, was at the center of the solar system. The Heliocentric model first faced tremendous criticism from supporters of the geocentric model. However, it was later accepted as an accurate representation of the solar system due to its mathematical validity and overall simplicity. The attached image represents the Heliocentric model.
