Which statement explains the significance of this colonial institution?
sesenic [268]

The correct answer is A. The assembly served as a model for other colonial legislatures.

Explanation:

The Virginia House of Burgesses was a government institution in Virginia from 1619 to 1776. In this, the colonies elected representatives whose function was to make certain political decisions and approve laws for the colony. This colonial institution was later replaced by a most modern institution, known as the House of Delegates. However, the creation of the Virginia House of Burgesses was extremely important because it was one of the first institutions with elected representatives, which serve as a model for many other institutions not only in Virginia but also in other colonies. According to this, the correct answer is A.

Alexxx [7]

Presidents are elected indirectly by electoral college.

The election of president and vice president of the United States is an indirect election in which citizens of the United States who are registered to vote in one of the 50 U.S. states or in Washington, D.C. cast ballots not directly for the candidates, but instead for members of the U.S. Electoral College, called electors. These electors cast direct votes, known as electoral votes, for president, and for vice president.
