The sculpture would be a very tall doorway, approximately 50 feet tall. It will be an interactive doorway to which you can open and close it at your will. On the closed side of the doorway, the door will be made of rosewood, with carved-in words at the top, saying "Free?". Once you open it, there will be many carvings on the other side of the door, saying "Racism" "Prejudice" "Stereotypes" etc. (you get the idea.) On that side of the door when you open it, There will be a black wall, with many visuals of people laughing a playing on one side, they are having fun and appear to be a dream-like place, eating good food, while on the other there are those same people that appear to be struggling with with reality; Jobs, hunger, poor, and prejudice. This symbolizes that we all live in a dream where anything can happen, but in reality that is not how it is. On both sides of the door, it will be just plain rosewood but with much texture, while on the black wall inside the doorway, it will be much color; black and shadowy on the side of misfortune and bright and colorful on the dream-like side.

Answer:

I would install a structure that has a repetition of different types of triangular that vary in shapes, sizes and colors that would complement the actual library in order to maintain the aesthetic and formal feel of a library. The triangles should be connected to each other by their sides and edges in order to create balance within the structure and outside areas. It would probably be carved out of stone but then molded with a clay that can maintain the shape and keep the edges looking sharp but not dangerously sharp since it is a public setting that needs to be safe. I chose to have triangles because they are simple but at the same time the different types of them will keep the sophisticated feel while also having diversity within the piece.

Did you mean directions? Anyways-

Explanation:

Stage directions are written from the perspective of the actor facing the audience. An actor who turns to his or her right is moving stage right, while an actor who turns to his or her left is moving stage left. The front of the stage, called downstage, is the end closest to the audience.
