According to andrew jackson what is required of the national government for it to be worth defending

History
1 answer:
Rainbow [258]3 years ago

Jackson believed that out of all the officials in the federal government, the only one who truly represented all the people was the president. Members of the House of Representatives served only their own districts; senators represented their own states (and were at this time chosen by the state legislatures, not elected directly by the voters); and Supreme Court justices and federal judges were appointed, not elected. As president, then, he felt a special responsibility to protect the people's rights and interests. Jackson also believed that the government should not favor any one person or group over others; that is, it should not favor the few at the expense of the many. This belief contributed to Jackson's decision to veto the re-charter of the Second Bank of the United States, unleashing what came to be called "the Bank War."

How did the March Revolution end the reign of Czar Nicholas II?
Ksivusya [100]
In March 1917, the army barracks at Petrograd united striking workers in challenging socialist reforms, and Czar Nicholas II was enforced to step down from his leadership. Nicholas and his family were first detained at the Czarskoye Selo palace, then in the Yekaterinburg palace near Tobolsk. In July 1918, the improvement of anti-revolutionary forces caused the Yekaterinburg Soviet forces to fear that Nicholas might be set free. After a secret meeting, a death sentence was approved on the imperial family, and Nicholas, his wife, his children, and several of their servants were gunned down on the night of July 16.

What area did the portuguese control in southeast asia what problem did they encounter
Softa [21]

As the European conquest of Africa unfolded, Portugal played the role of catalyst rather than leader. Hampered by its small size and weakened by several centuries of European warfare, Portugal was the smallest and poorest of Europe's imperial powers by the end of the 19th century. As a result, it was unable to hold on to everything that it claimed, but by playing off the major powers (England, France and Germany) against each other, Portugal managed to expand the territory that it actually controlled by the end of the "Scramble for Africa."
