Mikkel loved dance music. He was familiar with all of the popular techno and hip-hop artists. Mikkel longed to be a DJ. He had f

riends that owned their own speakers, stereo equipment, and turntables. Sometimes, he would go and help them when they were hired to play music at events. He learned all of their tricks. Mikkel just wished that he could afford his own equipment, so he could make money doing what he loved—playing music.
Mikkel looked through his belongings to see if he could sell anything. He had a skateboard and a bicycle that he never used anymore. He also had an old guitar that he had never learned to play. He could probably get a couple hundred bucks for these items, but it was not enough to buy DJ equipment. He needed a job, one that would not interfere with school or his passion.
Mikkel thought about his skills and his interests. He wanted to get a job that would help him develop into a better DJ. He checked the local music shop to see if the owners needed any part-time help, but they did not. Then, he gathered his courage and called the local radio station to ask if there were any job opportunities there. The radio station did not need his help either.
Mikkel told Spike, one of his DJ friends, about wanting to get his own equipment. Spike offered to pay Mikkel for helping him set up and take down his equipment at events. Spike also told Mikkel that he would be willing to sell his old equipment to him for a good price. That was the kind of break Mikkel needed. He knew that with the right equipment he would be able to start his own DJ business. He felt very fortunate to have a friend like Spike.
Question
6. What best summarizes the plot of this passage?
A. Mikkel loves dance music. He knows all of the popular techno and hip-hop music. He watches his friends DJ at events. Mikkel is interested in becoming a DJ, too.
B. Mikkel has a DJ friend called Spike. Spike is a great friend. He hires Mikkel to help him set up and take down his DJ equipment. Spike also offers to sell Mikkel his old equipment.
C. Mikkel wants to be a DJ. He tries to find a way to get enough money for his own DJ equipment. A friend offers to pay him to help at DJ events and to sell him some equipment.
D. Mikkel sells all of his belongings. He still does not have enough money, so he tries to find a job. The local music store does not hire him. The radio station also turns down his help.

I believe that C is the best answer. A and D are out easy beacuse they don't go well with the plot and B is incorrect because it mentions too much about Spike and not about Mikkel's own passion to become a DJ while still telling how he got the equipment.

A friend of yours was asked to be a research participant for a study investigating the effect of a pain reliever on muscle tears
LuckyWell [14K]

Answer:

informed consent

Explanation:

According to my research on experiment legal procedures, I can say that based on the information provided within the question all studies involving human subjects must include informed consent. This term is defined as permission granted in full knowledge of the possible consequences. If a researcher does not have this, then the researcher cannot legally use the subject for his studies, since in the eyes of the law it may be considered torture or kidnapping since you do not have proof of the subjects consent.

You are reading a lengthy description of a desert scene. This is called the?
makkiz [27]
I would say either A, or B. But I think B because it is giving you the setting of where this is taking place. So you wouldn't expect to all of a sudden see pirates right? You would more expect to hear of a lost civilization or see a camel walk past. It's basically getting you into the mindset of where the story's taking place and what to expect next. <span />

How do you find the roots of words
Greeley [361]
The process of identifying word roots has more to do with stripping away additional word elements than directly locating the root.

For example, if you had the word "hardly" you'd strip away the suffix "ly" and have the root remaining, "hard".

Hope that helps!
