Read the excerpt from "I Believe in a British Empire” by Joseph Chamberlain.
Ludmilka [50]

Answer:

the same purpose

an appeal to emotion

an appeal to reason

Explanation:

Both of the passages focus on the same purpose. It tries to convince the readers by<em> appealing to emotion</em> and<em> appealing to reason. </em>

Passage 1 appeals to emotion by using words and phrases such as <em>"dread"</em> and <em>"methods of barbarism." </em>These allow the readers to feel what the writer is claiming. Passage 2 appeals to emotion by using the words <em>"awake to life and freedom"</em> and<em> "long suppressed.</em>" It tries to convince the readers that India needed the freedom because it has been suppressed for a long time.

Besides appealing to emotion, both passages also<u> appeal to reason.</u> Passage 1 mentioned about the<em> "late war"</em> which happened in history. This is considered an evidence to his argument. Passage 2 mentioned about the<em> "dawn of history of India"</em> which backs his argument.

So, this explains the answers.

wlad13 [49]

What is ironic about Billy’s profession is that: "Although Billy helps others improve their vision, he improves their mental vision, too. (Option A)

<h3>
What is the explanation for the above?</h3>

Billy Pilgrim is the least soldierly and least likely to survive of the four soldiers roaming behind enemy lines after the Battle of the Bulge.

He's the only one who makes it out alive. He also survives Dresden's burning, which is impressive for an unfit prisoner of war.

When the people who had problems with their sight came to him, he reassured that that they would indeed see again.

Hypothetical imperative definition philosophy
liubo4ka [24]
In moral philosophy, the ''hypothetical imperative'' is a concept created by Immanuel Kant. The exact definition is ''a moral command conditional on personal desire or motive''. That means that you only do something as long as you honestly believe in the purpose of doing it and you actually desire to achieve the goal in question.
