Hi! A primary source is something written from someone who experiences an event first hand. Encyclopedias and books about ancient China are not primary sources, because it was not written by people who experienced the even first hand. B and D are not the answers. Pros: You were entitled or eligible for a good education; could rise in the church and become very comfortable or even rich; could preach the gospel and help people; were respected in the community and sometimes advised kings, queens, nobles and others.

Cons: You were not allowed to get married; you had superiors unless you became pope; you did not always get the job you wanted; in some places, the church was corrupt.
