What does Veni, Vedi, Vici mean? What may this reveal about the character who proclaimed this? (Julius Caesar)

English
1 answer:
Alexxandr [17]3 years ago
4 0

This expression means ''I came, I saw, I conquered'' which is believed to have been spoken by the Roman Emperor Julius Caesar in stylish bragging after his victory against Pharnaces II of Pontus at the battle of Zela around 46 BC.

We can infer that Julius Caesar was a person who thought highly of himself and his abilities. It is believed that the Roman Emperor had a lot in common with Hitler when it came to being part of the world's greatest military leaders and considering himself and those similar to him to be above others. He expanded the Roman Republic through a series of battles accross Europe and even declared himself dictator for life.
