What overall message do you think Bradford means to communicate in Of Plymouth Plantation? Write an essay to state what you thin
BARSIC [14]

Answer and Explanation:

"Of Plymouth Plantation" is composed by Bradford's account of the difficult times that the first English colonists suffered to arrive in North America.

Bradford wrote "Of Plymouth Plantation" not just as a diary, but an account of how it is possible to overcome our greatest difficulties, even when they seem impossible to overcome and even though it seems that we will lose our life in an attempt to overcome difficulties.

We can see that, because "Of Plymouth Plantation" presents a narrative of overcoming. Bradford presents the inhospitable environment, the unfavorable climate, the limited food and the constant dangers that the pilgrims went through, he reports the deaths and the constant threats they suffered, but also shows how they managed to overcome all this with effort, dedication, faith and trust.

Therefore, we can say that Bradford's narrative is significant, as it shows how the human being, in general, is capable of overcoming adversity and is capable of being greater than all of them. This is related to current life, as we live in times of uncertainty and danger, but we will eventually overcome everything.

How are odysseus and his wife penelope finally reunited?
VladimirAG [237]

Penelope basically tells the suitors that the man who can string the bow and shoot an arrow through 12 axe heads will win her hand and marriage. So disguised as a beggar Odysseus successfully strings the bow and grabs an arrow and shoots it straight through 12 axe heads. Eventually he makes his way back to Penelope but she isn’t convinced is really him. So she tells him that he can sleep outside her room on the bed on the bed that Odysseus carved. Oddysseus snapped and asked her who moved the his bed that was carved straight from the roots of a olive tree that the room was built around. Penelope knew that only he would have known about the bed so she instantly knew it was him.

It is possible for generations to learn from each other. This is called Cross Generational Learning.

How does Cross Generational Learning Work?

Older individuals may be excellent role models for youngsters, while also passing on family history, historical information, and teaching traditional rituals and traditions.

Children may also develop their practical living skills and problem-solving abilities by utilizing the knowledge and life experiences of adults who have lived for many years.

Interactions with youngsters can also help older individuals. They, too, may learn new skills, such as technology, and are frequently refreshed and motivated after spending time with children.

More time spent together may also lead to a better knowledge and appreciation of each generation's ideas, attitudes, and actions.

In The Joy LUck Club by Amy Tan for example,

The novel's four moms symbolize the older, more traditional Chinese generation, while their four daughters represent the modern Chinese-infused American generation.

Although some may claim that the daughter's resistance to her mother's influence was great enough to sever the connection of character transmission, the mother's impact remains quite strong.
