Explanation:

Diffusion is a process in which molecules move from a region of high concentration to the region of lower concentration. Diffusion also occurs in the cell but we called it osmosis because the molecules moves through cell membrane which is semi permeable. If the cell contains less concentration of solutes such as water or salt etc. as compared to outside environment so the the molecules diffuses inside the cell through a semi permeable membrane and this process is known as osmosis.
