The Nurse’s main role in the play is that of a secondary mother figure for Juliet. She conveys her affection for Juliet frequently and wants her to be really happy. The Nurse remains Juliet’s ally to the end of the story, and suffers greatly when she, as well as the rest of the Capulet household, believes Juliet dead.
