I think it's D, the others either don't have enough punctuation or they have too much

A is wrong. The semicolon isn't in the right place. B is wrong because it also has a misplacement of a comma and a semicolon. C is wrong becuase a comma should be used in place of the semicolon. This means that D is right; it combines two statements with a semicolon and the two statements could be made into their own sentences.

When incorporating direct quotations into writing, what is the function of parentheses?
wel

Answer:

The correct answer is that the function of parentheses when it comes to direct quotations is to add words that are not included in the direct quotation. So, for example, if you want to quote someone, but the quote is kind of out of context, then you need the brackets to add a word in order to make everything make sense.

What happens to the tension after the climax of the story
Marina CMI [18]
Rising action builds up to the climax, and the plot stage following the climax is called falling action. The climax essentially is the highest point of tension or energy in the story. Thus, the plot has nowhere to go but down after that.
