yes because Japan attacked the U.S., however the US joined the allies because Germany was a bigger threat in the long term whereas Japan was not. Basically Germany was a major threat during the war and the U.S. joined the allies because they were already supporting them with war goods (didn't join because "America first"). sorry this doesnt really make sense
