Colonial literature was inspired and fueled by Puritanism. It was religious and spiritual in nature and style, and in line with the major political upheavals of its day and age. The most notable nonfiction works include John Winthrop's The History of New England and William Bradford's History of Plymouth Plantation, both of which can be regarded as memoirs that explore and depict troubles and daily occurrences that colonizers faced in their early effort to establish their new home. There were also sermons that urged the colonizers to lead pious and devoted lives, following the paths of God - the most notable of these sermons is John Winthrop's A Model of Christian Charity. In it, Winthrop addresses the specific temptations that the Puritans were facing in the New World.

Poets were also drawing inspiration from religious and daily matters that occupied lives of these people in their small communities. But there were a few authentic voices, female and Afro-American: as a woman writer, Anne Bradstreet was mainly preoccupied with familial topics. while Phillis Wheatley is considered the first female representative of African-American poetry.

In “Your Laughter,” the symbol of the blue flower expresses the speaker’s _____.
cluponka [151]

Answer: I do not know if this is a multiple choice question or not, but I would contend that the blue flower is a reference to Neruda's country, Chile.

Explanation: The color blue is part of the flag of Chile. It symbolises, in part, the Pacific Ocean, and I believe that in these lines of his famous poem, the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda was referring to his beloved country, which he had had to abandon due to his political views. He is telling his lover that he wants her laughter like the flower he was waiting for, "the blue flower, the rose of my echoing country." He cannot have his country, but his lover's laughter will bring him the comfort that he needs in these difficult days away from his homeland.

Read the passage below and summarise it.
ziro4ka [17]

Answer:

Snow leopard is found in Central Asia, especially in the Tibetan and Himalayas. In the summer, the snow leopard is 6000-9000 feet high. Their coat is yellowish long and thick, mainly pale gray, but the belly has black spots and marks all over the white. The calves have broad black longitudinal stripes on the posterior part of the body instead of spots. The snow leopard likes to eat wild sheep, goats, bird etc. They are relatively peaceful and there are no reports of man being attacked. But if their pups are threatened, they are immediately protected. They seem to be nocturnal than other cats.

thanks

hope this helps.
