Answer:

It allows readers to see events from Mr. Hyde’s reckless perspective.

It allows readers to see events from Dr. Jekyll’s sorrowful perspective.

Explanation:

In Robert Louis Stevenson's "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde", the characters of Dr. Henry Jekyll and Mr. Hyde had contrasting personalities. They are the exact opposites of each other.

In Chapter 10 of the story, when Dr. Jekyll had committed sui cide, he left a note giving a full explanation of the beginning of Mr. Hyde's existence and till the sui cide of himself as the personality of Dr. Jekyll. The sui cide note/ letter that was addressed to Utterson reveals how he had lived his life till now. Narrating about how he had inherited large sum of money to being constantly conflicted between his good side and bad side, and his interest in science led to the creation of the potion that enables the monstrous Mr. Hyde's existence. But then when he realized the extent of atrocity that he was capable of doing as Mr. Hyde, he regretted his decision and the very notion of his existence as Dr. Jekyll. That's when he decided to kill himself by poison before the other personality of Mr. Hyde comes into existence, for he had a stronger hold on him, more than Jekyll had over himself.

His confession about the struggle he had endured between the good Dr. Jekyll and the bad Mr. Hyde allows the readers to see the events from Dr. Jekyll's sorrowful perspective as well as Mr. Hyde's reckless perspective.

How are precedents used in majority opinions and dissents?
bonufazy [111]

Answer:

To support an argument by showing that because other courts have made similar decisions, the decision in the current case must be logical.

Explanation:

When precedents are used in majority opinions and dissents, this is done in order to support an argument. The argument is that, because in similar cases, other courts have made similar decisions, then the decision in the current case must also be logical. This provides support to a particular decision, as well as regularity to the law.
