Answer:

The road crew shoveled sticky black tar that shimmered in the summer heat.

Explanation:

The use of descriptive language appeals to the readers in all of their senses, meaning a piece of text is describe in such a manner it makes the reader feel as if they're actually witnessing the scene with their physical presence.

Regarding the answer, the black tar receiving the action by the subject has its color (black) and visual effect (shimmering) described as how a reader might observe it were they part of the situation. The tar's consistecy (sticky) is also described to let the reader know how it would feel to the touch.

This is the most descriptive option of the four.

I think it is the second sentence because its explaining what it looks like; sticky, black tar and its also explaining to you what it does in the summer heat; it shimmers.

Hope this help!

kap26 [50]

Answer:

In general, it possible to state that there is nothing fair about the lottery tradition in this case

Explanation:

In The Lottery by Shirley Jackson, to "win" the lottery means that someone in the family will be sentenced to death being stoned until the end. At the en of the story, after Bill Hutchinson draws a black dot in the first round of the game, which means that someone in his family will die in a really cruelty way. The real controversial part in the story, is that if it was not this family another one had to be, the practice itself is so cruel, no matter who the "winner" is. Someone has to die anyway.
