Tom had 240$ to buy drinks and sandwiches for his class party. He bought 22 boxes of drinks at 4$ per box. He spent the rest of
m_a_m_a [10]
In the given question, there are several information's of immense importance. using these given information's the required answer can be easily deduced. It has already been given that Tom has a total amount of $240. He bought 22 boxes of drinks at $4 per box. rest he spent on buying the 8 boxes of sandwiches.
A. The amount of money the drinks cost in total = (22 * 4) dollars
                                                                             = 88 dollars
So Tom spent $88 on the drinks
B. Now we have to first find the amount spent by Tom on the box of sandwiches.
Total amount spent by Tom on sandwiches = (240 - 88) dollars
                                                                     = 152 dollars
Then the amount of money spent by Tom for buying 1 box of sandwich = (152/8) dollars
                                                                                                                   = 19 dollars
So Tom had to pay $19 for buying a single box of sandwich.

If BC bisects BED, this means that BED is split into two equal parts and that CED = BEC. We can see that AD forms a straight line, which means BED and AEB must be supplementary, ow have a sum of 180 degrees. Since CED has the same angle measure as BEC, this means that BED can be found by multiplying as shown:

BED = 2(CED) --> 2(4x + 1) --> BED = 8x + 2

Now find the value of x:

11x - 12 + 8x + 2 = 180

Combine like terms: 11x + 8x - 12 + 2 = 180

--> 19x - 10 = 180

---> 19x - 10 + 10 = 180 + 10 --> 19x = 190

Isolate x --> \frac{19x}{19} = \frac{190}{19}

x = 10

Plug in the value of x:

AEB + BEC = ?

--> 11(10) - 12 + 4(10) + 1AEC

---> 110 - 12 + 40 + 1 = AEC

----> 98 + 41 = AEC

So AEC is 139 degrees.
