The Declaration of Independence is statement adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4th 1776, which announced that the thirteen British colonies in the North America declared them selves as independent states. At the time, this colonies were in war with Great Britain, and the signing of Declaration of Independence meant the forming of the United States of America. The Thirteen Colonies were: Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Georgia, Connecticut, Virginia, Massachusetts bay, Maryland, New Hampshire, South Carolina, North Carolina, Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.
