As experiências românticas geram um impacto nas pessoas, especialmente quando a ilusão e a idealização são quebradas e a pessoa sofre um impacto doloroso sobre seus sentimentos e integridade. No entanto, a partir da dor a pessoa entende uma nova maneira de entender a si mesma e aos outros, muitas vezes os finais amorosos ajudam as pessoas a se encontrarem criando um novo caminho em seu ser. Em relação à maturidade, é comum que eles reflitam sobre o que querem e o que não em um próximo relacionamento, quais serão os limites e a confiança. A maturidade emocional permite que você não comprometer  os mesmos erros.
