What were the strengths and weaknesses of Athens and Sparta?
g100num [7]
Strengths of the Athens was that it had a strong navy, focused a lot on education, it was a direct democracy, and it made a lot of advances in art, science, and technology.

Weaknesses of Athens include that they were arrogant about their power, tried to get more land than they could control, and had bad foreign policies with other societies.

Strengths of Sparta include how strong its military and army was, it was self-disciplined, very healthy, did not focus on the wealth or luxury, women had a lot of rights (as compared to other societies at the time), and were very organized in their government.

Weaknesses of Sparta include bad trading with others and the little advantages they contributed to science and art as they were constantly in military mode.
