The conquest of Constantinople is also known as the fall of Constantinople (which occurred in 1453 in modern day Istanbul) was the capture of the capital of the Byzantine Empire by Ottoman Turks. The shape of the Byzantine Empire at the time of the attack by the Ottoman Empire is Constantinople along with a few miles around the cities outer walls. The Byzantine Empire is in dismay, as the remains lay in Constantinople. The conquest lasts for 53 days, and it marks the end of the Byzantine Empire, which is a continuation of the Roman Empire which has lasted for 1500 years. The attack was damaging for Christianity, as the Ottoman army (composed of Muslims) were given free access to Europe unchecked) without any adversary.
