D. Queen Nzinga

Queen Nzinga (also known as as Njinga Mbande) was ruler of the Ndongo and Matamba kingdoms of the Mbundu people in southwest Africa, in the region that would be referred to as Angola by Portuguese colonizers. The Portuguese had pressed into southern Africa with their slave ships after being challenged by the French and the British in regions where they had been conducting slave trade. Nzinga initially made some concessions to accommodate the Portuguese -- such as her conversion to Christianity. But the more that the Portuguese pressed for slave trade in the kingdoms she now controlled, the more she opposed them. She formed alliances with other kingdoms and engaged in battle against the Portuguese for thirty years, beginning in 1627. The Portuguese made many attempts to capture or kill Queen Nzinga, but they never succeeded in doing so. She lived to the age of 80, dying of natural causes in 1663.

-Do you think Clarisse inherited some characteristics from her father, who is the war god?
slava [35]

Answer:

 1. Yes, Clarisse most likely inherited some characteristics from her father such as her ferocity, braveness, hot-temperedness and strong nature.
 2. The Big Three; Zeus, Poseidon and Hades had sworn to not have any more children since they were becoming too powerful. Poseidon most likely didn't want to claim Percy in order to avoid facing the fact that he broke the oath with his brothers.
 3. A good leader needs to be honest, be able to communicate and delegate responsibility. He/she needs to have a positive attitude, be able to inspire others and be creative. Chiron meets all of this criteria; he is honest to the campers and to Percy when asked serious questions about the ongoing crisis, he is able to delegate responsibility and the way he runs Camp Half-Blood is creative as well as inspiring for the campers to develop their multiple talents.

Explanation:

 1. Clarisse's father is Ares, God of War who also possesses these characteristics.
 2. Poseidon broke the oath with Zeus and Hades regarding fathering more children.
 3. Chiron is a good camp leader.
