To answer the question, let x be the number of adults going to the zoo and 2x be the number of children. The total amount gained from the ticket sales should be,
                             1650 = 6x + 4(2x)
The values of x is equal to 117.86. Therefore, the school bought approximately 118 tickets for adults and 236 for children.

Use the polar representation to write the following in the form a + bi (a) (-1+ i)^7 (b) (1+v3i)^10
ira [324]

Answer with Step-by-step explanation:

For any complex number x+iy the polar form is represented as

z=re^{i\theta }

where

r^{2}=x^2+y^2\\\\tan(\theta )=\frac{y}{x}

Part a) x+iy = -1+i

Thus r=\sqrt{-1^2+1^2}=\sqrt{2}\\\\  \theta _{1}=tan^{-1}(\frac{-1}{1})=\frac{-\pi }{4}

Thus using De-Morvier's theorem

(-1+i)^7=(\sqrt{2}e^{i\frac{-\pi }{4}})^7\\\\\therefore (-1+i)^7=2^{7/2}\cdot e^{\frac{i-\pi }{28}}

Part 2) x+iy = 1+3i

Thus r=\sqrt{1^2+3^2}=\sqrt{10}\\\\  \theta _{1}=tan^{-1}(\frac{3}{1})=1.25

Thus using De-Morvier's theorem

(1+3i)^{10}=(\sqrt{10}e^{1.25i})^{10}\\\\\therefore (1+3i)^{10}=10^{5}\cdot e^{12.5i}

Use two unit multipliers to convert 62 square centimeters to square inches
gtnhenbr [62]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

You only need one, but to use two let's go from cm to mm an then mm to inches.  there are 100 mm^2 in a cm^2 so that's 100 mm^2/ 1 cm^2 and then there's  645.16 mm^2 in one square inch so that one will be 1 in^2/ 645.16 mm^2 so writing it out we get:

62 cm^2 * 100 mm^2/ 1 cm^2 *  1 in^2/ 645.16 mm^2

units all cancel out to get in^2 an then you just multiply 62*100/645.16 = 9.61 so that leaves us with 9.61 in^2.

Let me know if there's something you don't understand.
