First get rid of the denominator of the fraction by multiplying all the terms by 1.

-6 • 1 + b/1 • 1 = -6 • 1

-6 + b = -6

Add 6 to both sides to get b by itself.

-6 + 6 + b = -6 + 6

Combine like terms.

b = 0

Marat540 [252]
A. He had luxurious habits and didn't simplify the elaborate church ceremonies the Church of England had.

The Puritans strongly believed that the elaborate ceremonies of the Anglican Church needed to be replaced by simpler ceremonies, but James I refused to help them.  He also spent large sums of money on his luxurious ways of life, making more and more people angry.
