I believe <span> William and Mary were the one that </span><span>gave the English parliament the power to determine the royal succession.
This happen after they overthrew King James II from the throne as the result of the Glorious revolution in 1688.  After James II fled away from the throne, the parliament invided William and mary to held the throne which marked the Parliament's first right to determine royal succession.</span>
