The Allies had an enormous task ahead of them. That task was managing to supply their troops on the two fronts that were located on the different parts of the globe. The fight against the Axis was happening in Europe and Africa on one side and against Japan on the other. The war in Europe itself demanded a huge amount of not only supplies but also men and vehicles and weapons. Not to mention the supplies needed for the war in the Pacific.
