The Taft-Hartley Act, also known as Labor Management Relations Act of 1947, intended to curb the laws that gave too much power to union leaders.
It was created in order to restrict the powers these leaders had because things were getting out of control. President Harry Truman tried to veto this act but in the end Senator Taft and Representative Hartley managed to get this act through.
