B.carefree days of a happy childhood

The passage lists the different activities the boys used to do: fly kites and sword fight with sticks. The author's word choices of "frolic", "play", "leaping", "easy" and others all show the carefree nature with which the boys played. The passage does not include any information about their dreams or relaxing. Also, even though the boys do compete against each other with their duels, the passage is not about the duel, but rather the pretend play.

Identify the answer that is correctly punctuated.
oee [108]

Answer:

Answer choice D, "Chris told the server that he wanted a "pepperoni pizza and a large salad.""

Explanation:

"He wanted" wouldn't be in quotes because why would you say that to the waiter, and although the quotes are unnecessary I believe since the question says the correctly punctuated, that the answer would be D. Forgive me if I'm wrong.

kari74 [83]
A contains an error: "and then she publishes them under a false name" is an independent clause and should have a comma before it.
B contains an error, as the comma should be before "but", not after it, for the same reason as A.
C correctly shows what should have been done in A and B.
D should not have a comma after "but".

C is the correct answer.
