Two frog populations (same species) living in two neighboring lakes sing slightly different courtship songs. increased irrigatio

n makes the land between the two lakes wetter, allowing frogs to expand their ranges to the area between the lakes. females in both populations prefer loud frogs to quieter frogs but do not distinguish between the two slightly different songs. assuming that courtship song differences have a genetic basis, predict what will likely happen to the songs of the two frog populations.

The songs will become similar.

The frogs from the two populations will start to crossbreed which will bring to genetic recombination. As a result of that event, courtship song differences will be less and less between those two frog populations.

Explain why meiosis is being discussed in Genetics rather than mitosis?
ch4aika [34]
Mitosis creates two identical daughter cells that each contain the same number of chromosomes as their parent cell. Apart from this reduction in chromosome number, meiosis differs from mitosis in yet another way. Specifically, meiosis creates new combinations of genetic material in each of the four daughter cells.
