Close narrators tend to be more developed.

Every narrative has a different approach, and when a narrator develops closeness with his/her audience it can be assumed that it is a more developed narrator. This is because creating a relationship with your audience takes time, hardwork and trust. And all of these things come with real effort.

Curley's wife is his possession. She wears form fitting dresses, high heels, too much make up, simple, yet pretty.  Her problem is that no man around will talk with her for fear of her husband.  She moves about the ranch searching out someone to talk to and when she comes across Crooks, Lennie, and Candy she immediately demeans them.
