tan ∅ and cot ∅

tan ∅ is undefined for ∅ = \frac{\pi }{2}

and since cot ∅ = 1/ tan ∅ then cot ∅ is also undefined for ∅ = \frac{\pi }{2}

Answer:

\tan\theta is undefined when \theta=\frac{\pi}{2}  radians.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :  \theta=\frac{\pi}{2}  radians  .

To find : Which function is undefined  ?

Solution :

To check which functions are undefined  put the value of \theta=\frac{\pi}{2},

1) \cos\theta

\cos\theta=\cos\frac{\pi}{2}=0

2) \cot\theta

\cot\theta=cot\frac{\pi}{2}

\cot\theta=\frac{cos\frac{\pi}{2}}{sin\frac{\pi}{2}}

\cot\theta=\frac{0}{1}

\cot\theta=0

3)  \csc\theta

\csc\theta=cosec\frac{\pi}{2}

\csc\theta=\frac{1}{sin\frac{\pi}{2}}

\csc\theta=\frac{1}{1}

\csc\theta=1

4)

\tan\theta=\tan\frac{\pi}{2}

\tan\theta=\frac{sin\frac{\pi}{2}}{cos\frac{\pi}{2}}

\tan\theta=\frac{1}{0}

\tan\theta=\infity

Therefore, \tan\theta is undefined when \theta=\frac{\pi}{2}  radians.

Can someone simply explain how to find the area of a triangular prism ? step by step ^^;
Vika [28.1K]
The formula:
A = bh + L (s1 + s2 + s3)

A: area
b: base
h: height
L: length
s1: side 1 (cross-sectional area)
s2: side 2 (cross-sectional area)
s3: side 3 (cross-sectional area)

Here’s an example (see attached image)

A = (4 x 6) + (12 x [7 + 7 + 4])
A = (24) + (12 x 18)
A = 24 + 216
A = 240cm^2

I hope this helped? Comment if you need more explanation or anything!

Find the area of the parking space if the height is 18 feet and the base is 9 1/4 feet
Molodets [167]
Area= base x height
So, the base is 9 1/4 and the height is 18 feet
so, the Area= 9 1/4 x 18

9 1/4 x 18
= 166.5

Kathleen had a bag of candy-coated chocolates. Of the 55 candies in the bag, 20% were red, 30% were orange, 30% were green, and
Marysya12 [62]
So 20% is 1/5 and 1/5 of 55 is 11. That means there are in total 11 blue candies if 1/5 of them is damaged then technically 2.2 of them are which is kinda weird as it doesn't give whole number
