The unemployment rate for African Americans during the Great Depression was 50%. During the Great Depression, it was difficult for all races and/or social classes to find work because unemployment rates were high and the economy was almost to the point of collapsing. But with that being said the unemployment rates for African Americans were higher than those for whites. African Americans unemployment rate was nearly 20% higher than white workers.
