M + p = 48
m = 2p - 6

2p - 6 + p = 48
3p - 6 = 48
3p = 48 + 6
3p = 54
p = 54/3
p = 18 <==Pennsylvania Pigs won 18 games

m = 2p - 6
m = 2(18) - 6
m = 36 - 6
m = 30 <==Maryland Monkeys won 30 games

The larger of two numbers is twice the smaller . If the sum is 54 find the numbers
Rom4ik [11]
So there are 2 numbers

pretend the smaller number is x, so the larger number must be 2x because it's twice as large

so 2x+x equals 54

simplifies to 3x=54

x= 18

the smaller number is 18 and the larger one is 36 (because 36 is 18 x 2)

Drag each term to the correct location on the expression. each term can be used more than once, but not all terms will be used.
grandymaker [24]

Answer:

4(x-3)(x+6)

Step-by-step explanation:

We factor out the 4 first since all numbers are divisible by 4. That leaves us with x^2+3x-18.

Then we factor this to get (x-3)(x+6).

So the factored form of the equation is 4(x-3)(x+6)
