Gandhi's most basic principles apply everywhere in life, these includes unity of mind, body and soul, such that one should never do anything with their body that is not right with their mind or with their mind that is not right with their soul. In addition, selflessness, service to others and faith in a superior spiritual life to our life on earth are among other aspects that one needs to apply in real life.
