Answer: After school, many students play football, read books, and some relax with video games.

Explanation: parallelism or parallel structure is a literary device that consists in the repetition of the grammatical structure of different words or phrases in a sentence or paragraph, in order to emphasize an idea or to create an impact in the audience. In the given sentence we can see an example of faulty paralellism because the listed elements don't have the same structure (the verbs aren't in the same tense). To correct that we need to change "reading" for "read."

Katyanochek1 [597]

Answer:

"Even today, the need for work is a common reason people move to urban areas."

Explanation:

  • I don't see the question, just the passage.
  • If the question is: "Select a sentence from the body of this article that can be removed without affecting the author's explanation. Place the sentence in quotes and explain why it is an unnecessary detail.", then the answer would be "They needed ways to move around the city."
  • Otherwise, it would be "Even today, the need for work is a common reason people move to urban areas."

valentinak56 [21]

Answer:

School uniforms should be banned because it violates the right we have known as the First amendment. The Freedom of speech right allows us to wear and what we want to express and schools cannot take this right away from us.

Another Reason schools should not allow uniforms is that poor people don't have enough money to buy uniforms so the little amount of money they have is for there food and goods for survival, not for a school uniform.
