Max measures the diagonal of a square room to be 32feet find the perimeter and area of the room round answers to the nearest ten
Rasek [7]
Hello!

To find the side length of a square with the diagonal you use the equation

a =  \sqrt{2}  \frac{d}{2}

a is side length
d is diagonal length

Put in the values you know

a =  \sqrt{2} *  \frac{32}{2}

Divide

a =  \sqrt{2} * 16

Multiply

a = 22.6

All the sides are 22.6 feet

Add all the sides

22.6 + 22.6 + 22.6 + 22.6 = 90.4

The answer is 90.4

Hope this helps!

The width of a rectangle is (x+1) and the length is (x-6). What is the length and width of the rectangle if the area is 30 squar
jolli1 [7]

Answer:

The length of the rectangle (l) = 3 feet

The width of the rectangle (W) = 10 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Step(i):-

Given that the width of the rectangle = (x+1) feet

Given that the length of the rectangle = ( x-6) feet

The area of the rectangle = 30 square feet

Step(ii):-

We know that the area of the rectangle

                = length ×width

    30   = ( x+1)(x-6)

    30   = x² - 6x + x -6

⇒ x² - 5 x - 6 = 30

⇒ x² - 5 x - 6 - 30 =0

⇒ x² - 5 x - 36 =0

x² - 9 x +4x - 36 =0

   x (x-9) +4 ( x-9) =0

   ( x+4 ) ( x-9) =0

     ( x+4 ) =0 and  ( x-9) =0

     x =-4 and x =9

Step(iii):-

we have to choose x =9

     The length of the rectangle (l) =  x-6 = 9-6 =3

      The width of the rectangle (W) =  x+1 =  9 +1 = 10

Final answer:-

The length of the rectangle (l) = 3 feet

The width of the rectangle (W) = 10 feet

Please help with problem !!!
True [87]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

y = 2x^2 - 12x +19                Put brackets around the  1st 2 terms. Take 2

y = 2(x^2 - 6x ) + 19             Take 1/2 of the 6 square it and add inside the brackets

y = 2(x^2 - 6 + (6/2)^2) +19 Subtract 2 *9 from the 19. Express 1st 3 terms as ( )^2

y = 2(x- 3)^2 + 19 - 18

y = 2(x - 3)^2 + 1

A man pays only $60 for an item which originally sells for $100. What percent of the original price does the man pay for the ite
Anni [7]
Answer: 40%. Alternatively, you can think about it this way. The item is 40% off. This means you'll pay 60.000% of the total cost (100% - 40% = 60.000%).
