A metaphor

This metaphor is comparing the speaker's love and the way that it grows to an empire that is growing quickly. The visual of love spreading across the world in the same way an empire's goal would be to spread across the world is a strong connection.

What is the difference between proper and common adjectives?
Andrews [41]
Proper adjectives have their initial letter capitalised, for example American - derived from a proper noun America - or Victorian - derived from (queen) Victoria.

Common adjectives, on the contrary, don't have their initial letter capitalised, for example green, empty, colourful. Just remember that "common adjective" is not a scientific term used by linguists, it is informal.
