In constructing an inequality, you need to know the following:

1. What don't we know? How many songs can be bought? So, let x be the numbers of songs.
2. What do we know? Each songs costs $2 plus a fee for using the artist's site of $5.
3. Is there more than 1 possible solution? Yes, because there is enough money left if she only bought 1 song.

The meaning of no more than $40 means it must not exceed $40, $40 or less, or only $40.

So, song + fee can't be more than $40 and song + fee could equal to $40.

Therefore, song + fee for using an artist's site less than or equal to $40.

Which ordered pair is a solution to the system of inequalities?
xxTIMURxx [149]

Answer:

Option A

Step-by-step explanation:

System of the inequalities is,

y ≥ 2x

y < x + 4

By satisfying these inequalities with the points given in the options we can get the answer.

Option (A). (2, 5)

y ≥ 2x

5 ≥ 2(2)

5 ≥ 4

True.

y < x + 4

5 < 2 + 4

5 < 6

True

Therefore, Option (1) is the answer.

Option (B) (1, 6)

y ≥ 2x

6 ≥ 2(1)

6 ≥ 2

True.

y < x + 4

6 < 1 + 4

6 < 5

False.

Therefore, it's not the solution.

Option (C) (2, 3)

y ≥ 2x

3 ≥ 2(2)

3 ≥ 4

False.

y < x + 4

4 < 2 + 4

4 < 6

True.

Therefore, It's not the solution.

Option (D) (1, 5)

y ≥ 2x

5 ≥ 2(1)

5 ≥ 4

True.

y < x + 4

5 < 1 + 4

5 < 5

False.

Therefore, It's not the solution.

Leya [2.2K]

Answer:

2.1 hrs

Step-by-step explanation:

In 1 hr, Phillip would have proofed 1/7 of the chapter. In 1 hr, Kim would have proofed 1/3 of the chapter. So, together in 1 hr, they would have proofed 10/21 of the chapter. So, it would take 21/10 or 2.1 hrs to proof the whole chapter together.
