Now, lets plug in the values we know. Since it has to pass through (3,2), the y value is 2 and the x value is 2:

2 = 3(3) + b
2 = 9 + b

-7 = b

Now that we know what the b, or the y-intercept is, lets from our equation:

y = 3x - 7
