The answer is C. Metafiction is fiction where the author constantly shows the reader it is fiction. If the story has footnotes showing how they made the story, they are showing that it is completely fake, and they will not use suspension of disbelief. I hope this helps!

The clearest example of metafiction is story C. A story with footnotes that comment on the author's process.

There are many resources that can be employed to make use of metafiction (a narrative technique in which the author constantly reminds the reader that he or she is reading a fictional work), and some of them include:

  • Telling a story within a story
  • Telling a story about a third person who's reading or writing a book
  • And of course, telling a story and making use of footnotes to comment on it

In this way the reader is engaged and becomes a participant in the story, forcing himself to think about the nature of the narration and how much credibility exists in the stories he/she reads.

In The Great Gatsby, does wealth alone decide which class a character belongs to?
Nata [24]

I believe so because Gatsby was a wealthy man who was poor at first and worked his way to become rich and the woman he loved was also rich and had a high class. The poorer people were lower class in the book/movie as well

Drag the tiles to the boxes to form correct pairs. Not all tiles will be used.
IrinaK [193]

Answer: breaking the bill = giving change

               common clay  = ordinary man

                trifle  = small amount

                 larks  = tricks

Explanation: In this excerpt from Mark Twain's "The £1,000,000 Bank-Note", the tiles and the boxes to form correct pairs are matched above. In this short story, Henry presents the £1,000,000 Bank-Note to the man who has served him in the restaurant. This man cannot believe his eyes because there are only two £1,000,000 Bank-Notes and one has already been used. He thinks that an ordinary man cannot handle such a bill and doesn't give change to Henry saying that that small amount can be left for some other time. The man supposes that being dressed as a homeless is because he is playing tricks on people.
