Ulysses is a novel by Victorian poet ''Alfred Lord Tennyson'' written in 1833 and published in 1842.The main theme of Ulysses is to explore adventure, experience and meaning that make life worth living.
Tennyson used Ulysses as an old adventurer who was not ready to accept the discovery of the era and waited a long time for another search. The sets of poem that reflects the Victorian theme are as follows,
1. ''Tis not too late to seek a newer world”: This refers that it is not too late to explore new adventures despite obstacles.
2. ''To sail beyond sunset, and the baths of all western stars, until I die''- This phrase describes as Ulysses wants to sail far away until he die, where there is no stars found.
3. ''Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will''- It means they are weak by time and their heart but strong in facing challenges.
4. ''To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield''- This phrase describes that they still seek to find the way to stay strong.
