11.5 + -3y = -48

Solving for variable “y”

Move all terms containing y to the left, all other terms to the right.

Add ‘-11.5’ to each side of the equation.
11.5 + -11.5 + -3y = -48 + 11.5

Combine like terms: 11.5 + -11.5 = 0.0
0.0 + -3y = -48 = -11.5
-3y = -48 + -11.5

Combine like terms: -48 + 11.5 = -59.5 -3y = -59.5

Divide each side by ‘-3’
Y= 19.83333333

Simplifying
Y = 19.333....

When solving a system of equations, how do you determine which method to use?
lisov135 [29]

How can you determine the best method of solving a system of equations?

Elimination is best used when both equations are in standard form (Ax + By = C).

Elimination is also the best method to use if all of the variables have a coefficient other than 1.

Hope this helps

What are the slope and y. intercept of the linear function
spayn [35]
Answer = slope -1/2 intercept 1

Using the rise/run method, you can see that the slope is -1/2 (It’s negative because if the line wen the other way, it would be positive)

As for the y-intercept, the line intercepts the line at 1, so the y-intercept is +1.

Hope this helps :)
